This special episode begins with twelve boss-employee pairings, the fastest six of which will move onto the next round. The pairs take on the Qualifier together; with both halves having to tackle each obstacle before they can move onto the next one.

1) Caterpillar Crossing:
The pairs have to hold hands and run together across a row of three caterpillar bridges. One of the caterpillars will mechanically slide sideways to make this virtually impossible. There is then a second row to be crossed in the same way.

2) Drivers Ed:
Contestants have edge their way past a giant dashboard, using the three turning steering wheels to hold on to as they pass. As they cross, pedals will pop-up from below and air bags will explode out of the steering wheels to knock the contestants off.

3) Big Balls:
This is a sloped row of four giant inflatable rubber balls that need to be crossed, jumping from one to another across the top. The Handrail Motivator (a bar that'll flip around to whack contestants) will knock any hesitant jumpers into the first Ball.

4) Jiggleator:
Contestants have to jump across two mechanical platforms that will shake and tip to slide them off. On the second platform is a kennel that contestants must crawl through, and then squeeze past two toy dogs before leaping off.

5) Double Barrel:
Contestants have to jump into one of two circular indents in a giant rotating dish, and ride it around. They then need to jump out and onto the finish platform. If the contestants fall into the water they must to swim to the edge of the pool and climb onto a second finish spot to stop the clock.

End of round

Total Carnage:
The twelve contestants all begin on the same platform. They have to leap across a curved row of nine beams to reach the finish point, avoiding being knocked off by a row of three spinning rings (which they must squeeze between) and a Crankshaft (a rotating misshaped beam that must be jumped over) which constantly sweep towards them.
If a contestant falls off at any time they must swim back to the starting platform and try again.
The first three complete pairs to finish move onto the next round.

Wipeout 500:
The three pairs all take on this course at once, racing each other over three obstacles to the finish. There are two rounds, and the first complete pair to finish the course in each round wins.
If a contestant falls into the water at any time they must start the obstacle they just failed at again.
To make things harder, tyres, sponges and buckets of goo are thrown at the contestants.

1) Street Sweepers:
Contestants begin by crossing a bouncing podium to reach a spinning rectangular turntable. They then have to leap off and cross another set of podiums, two of which bounce up and down, to reach the next part of the course. All the while they must avoid being knocked off by two rotating double-ended Sweeper arms.

2) Spinner-change:
Contestants must jump onto a spinning turntable, avoiding being knocked away by four bumpers fixed on top. Once on, they have to jump off onto a platform on the other side.

3) Stuttering Straightaways:
Finally contestants cross two mechanical pathways that continually tip up from side-to-side, jumping between the two and then onto the finish platform.

End of round

The contestants take on the Wipeout Zone one at a time, but the finishing times of both halves of a pair are added together. The team who has the quickest total time wins the $50,000.

1) Towering Flume of Doom:
To start, contestants stand on a trapdoor at the top of a massive waterslide. On 'Go' the flaps are opened and the contestant is flushed down the flume and shot out into the air at the bottom.

2) Iron Maizen:
A giant rotating vertical maze that contestants have to work their way through. They must enter on the yellow side and exit out of the red side.

3) Axle of Evil:
This is a spinning disk on the end of a circling arm. On the disk are three giant pegs. Contestants have to grab onto one of the pegs and ride the Axle around to reach the next part of the course.

4) Great Wall of Fall:
To reach the finish platform, contestants have climb across a wall using the giant pegs sticking out of it. Some of the pegs slide in and out of the wall to make crossing more difficult.
